Application of Calcium Chloride in Oil Drilling and Aquaculture

Hello, come to consult our products !

Calcium Chloride is an inorganic salt, appearance is white or off-white powder, flake, prill or granular, has Calcium Chloride anhydrous and Calcium Chloride dihydrate. Calcium Chloride is widely used in many industries due to its physical and chemical properties. Papermaking, dust removal and drying are inseparable from Calcium Chloride, and petroleum exploitation and aquaculture, which are closely related to economy and life, are inseparable from the role of Calcium Chloride. So ,what role does Calcium Chloride play in these two fields?

Oil Drilling
In the exploitation of oil, Calcium Chloride anhydrous is essential material, because in the process of oil exploitation adding anhydrous calcium chloride has the following applications:
1.Stabilize the mud layer:
Adding Calcium Chloride can stabilize the mud layer at different depths;
2. Lubrication drilling: to lubricate the drilling to ensure the mining work;
3. Making hole plug: the use of Calcium Chloride with high purity to make hole plug can play a fixed role on the oil well;
4. Demulsification: Calcium Chloride can maintain a certain ionic activity, saturated calcium chloride has the role of demulsification.
Calcium chloride is widely used in oil well drilling because of its low cost, easy to store and easy to use.
Aquaculture
The main ingredient used in aquaculture is Calcium Chloride dihydrate, which degrades the pH of the pond.
The suitable pH value for most aquatic animals in aquaculture ponds is neutral to slightly alkaline (pH 7.0~8.5). When the pH value is abnormally too high (pH≥9.5), it will lead to adverse reactions such as slow growth rate, increase of feed coefficient and morbidity of aquaculture animals. Therefore, how to reduce pH value has become an important technical measure for pond water quality control, and also become a hot research field in water quality control. Hydrochloric acid and acetic acid are commonly used acid-base regulators, which can directly neutralize hydroxide ions in water to reduce pH value.Calcium Chloride precipitates hydroxide ions through calcium ions, and the resulting colloid can flocculate and precipitate some phytoplankton, slowing down the consumption of carbon dioxide by algae, thereby lowering pH.A large number of experiments have proved that Calcium Chloride has the best effect on pH degradation of aquaculture ponds compared with hydrochloric acid and acetic acid.
Secondly, calcium chloride in aquaculture also plays a role in improving water hardness, degradation of nitrite toxicity.
